“THE GREATEST WEALTH IS HEALTH“

The five main principles of health

The five main principles of health are healthy Eating Habits, Cardio Exercises, Resistance training, positive thinking and adequate rest. We can easily integrate them into our everyday lives when we want it. These five principles of health give us a long, healthy and happy life. If we live by these principles, we can avoid most diseases. “ I strongly believe in proactive approach rather than reactive approach”

  1. Healthy Eating Habits
The key to a healthy eating habit is to balance what you eat by consuming a variety of foods in the right proportions. At a high level, the basic elements of a healthy eating habit include the right amount of protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and water. Learning healthy habits at a young age is important for living a fulfilling lifestyle as an adult. Although it is possible to change bad habits later on in life, it can be much more difficult as you deal with the stressors of work, family and other obligations, as well as potential medical conditions brought on by a lifetime of bad habits. Teach the importance of wellness at an early age to set kids and teens up for a lifetime of healthy living.

2. Cardio Exercises
Cardio, short for cardiovascular exercise, is any movement that gets your heart rate up and increases blood circulation throughout the body. There are various forms and methods of performing cardio exercise - all which will have specific benefits and guidelines. Activities like walking, jogging, cycling, swimming keep the body strong and healthy. It is also sufficient to train on an exercise bike (bicycle, treadmill).

3. Resistance Training
Strength training is also called resistance training because it involves strengthening and toning your muscles         by contracting them against a resisting force.
Strength training will add definition to your muscles and give men and women alike more fit and toned bodies. But working out with weights does so much more:

  • Strength training helps keep the weight off for good.

  • Strength training protects bone health and muscle mass.

  • Strength training makes you stronger and fitter.

  • Strength training boosts energy levels and improves your mood.

  • Strength training helps you develop better body mechanics.

  • Strength training translates to more calories burned.

4. Think positive
Keep your mind through conscious control, predominantly positive. Positive thoughts lead to positive feelings and positive emotions have a positive effect on your body. Motivate yourself with positive phrases and ideas. Read positive books and have a positive task (hobby).

5. Relax sufficiently
Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety.

The connection between sleep and weight gain is hard to ignore. People who are sleep deprived are more likely to gain weight  than those who receive just seven hours of sleep per night. And with all of the connections to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure, and cognitive failure, the need to sleep goes far beyond just looking better and seeing results from your diet and exercise efforts.

While there’s no hard number that applies to all people, a good rule of thumb is to receive between seven and nine hours of sleep per night, and to make sure that one poor night of sleep isn’t followed up with a few more. It might not seem like much, but it could make all the difference and mean more than any other health decision you make.
